Recently, I joined this "online coven" and its actually been pretty interesting. We are currently doing 3 day attunements for each point on the pentacle.
Earth is the second most dominate element in my natal chart, under the sign of Virgo at least 3 times. I was very surprised to see that but it totally explains my love for planners and of course, the dark side of Virgo which is to over-analyze everything LOL I crave stability and organization but often get sidetracked (the curse of all Gemini's!). To my credit, I'm much better than I used to be and have come to a cleaning schedule that works for me. I've read that Virgos are the cooks of the zodiac- creating dishes comes easy to me, i enjoy cooking and usually get compliments.
I always used feel disconnected from my body. Everything from sensation, to practical needs and even body image was distorted for me. That has slowly changed over the years but I feel I can still do more to improve my connection. Anyone who has experienced physical abuse understandably needs healing in this area.
"For us, the world was full of beauty; for the other, it was a place to be endured until he went to another world.
But we were wise. We knew that man's heart, away from nature, becomes hard.”
Regardless of spells, psychic experiences and high ritual, love of nature is the main reason I decided to follow the pagan path as a teen.
Nature is magic, I feel connect to my ancestors when I work with herbs or do folk spells. Earth is our mother and although I'm not perfect I am proud of the steps I've taken to reduce my carbon footprint. Even in current crazyness of Covid, I feel so peaceful watching the slow bloom of spring. Romantic inclinations aside, it just seems so practical and comforting to know that when I die, I feed the cycle of life. Maybe become a tree...I need to look into my options as some point.
For me, a healthy connection to Earth means you can appreciate beauty, luxury, wealth without being controlled by it. Without becoming obsessed with perfection or owning all brand name designer items. I can enjoy makeup without feeling like I have to wear it, I can work toward financial stability without being defined by my account balances. My dad said he was going to put me as the primary for his will or whatnot because I was the least greedy and would be fair. It was nice to hear that but who knows if he'll actually follow through and do the paperwork LOL
Western occult traditions relate money to earth, but I also relate money to water due to my interest in Chinese traditions. My biggest challenge with money in the past (regardless of my salary) was always the fact that I didn't save for the future. And it took years to understand that the dysfunction was mostly likely caused by my step-mom stealing everything in my savings account the day before I turned 18, I think at that point I began feeling powerless over money and feeling like I dare not dream or save and make plans for the future because it will be taken away from me.
This is all very timely considering Covid-19, the stimulus checks, tax refunds and being on unemployment. I did treat myself to a BPAL order but the rest is going into savings and to pay off my old Kohls credit card. Thankfully, I don't have a lot of bills and can use this extra money to boost my savings.Other goals are to learn more about investing and the stock market and to get my credit score back to where it used to be back in 2016.
We had some mini-assignments such as grounding outside, create a new recipe, tend to your self-care/body pampering. My main project as we head into Taurus season is to start my porch garden. Its a small space but I think I've found a way to make it work :)
